Uma and Nandini's Indian Wedding in Detroit, MI

I boarded a plane to head to Detroit to photograph Uma and Nandini's wedding when they announced on the speakers that is was going to be a bumpy ride! And boy was it a terrible flight. I thanked God when we landed and swore that I will drive to the next wedding, although I'm pretty sure that won't happen. But the flight quickly faded into a memory as the excitement of having the honor of photographing a beautiful friends wedding kicked in- Uma and her now husband Nandini. Uma is a fearless preacher and sincere friend who is liked by so many. The wedding was packed with family and friends literally from all over the world! From England to Africa and to iIndia- you name it and someone probably flew in from there. The most magical things is that the entire wedding was coordinated by her friends and Family! Uma showed some serious trust in the process, and the wedding came out beautifully. The wedding took place in the Ann Arbor Marriott at Eagle Crest. I loved that the ceremony site was situated amongst lush greenery including tall pine trees and open golf fields which was perfect for formals. Their Color scheme was Pink, Red and Gold with beautiful rose floral arrangements draping the mandap and reception hall.

Check out the beautiful Ceremony stage! We want to wish Nandini and Uma an amazing journey together as husband and wife

Robert and Julaine's Engagement Session at Cypress Grove Estate Park

Summer is almost here! This means that we are now entering the wedding photography season. I'm so fortunate to live in Orlando where there are so many amazing parks and lakes. There is an abundance of beautiful photo shoot locations here. After all, Florida is called the sunshine state and Orlando is called the city of Beautiful!

I love to incorporate sunsets in my photo shoots whenever possible. Golden hour lighting (1 hour after sunrise and one hour before sunset) has that ethereal warm glow that looks gorgeous in photographs. I try to schedule all of my photo shoots in the mornings or early evenings. That's exactly what we did for Robert and Julaine's Engagement Session at Cypress Grove Estate Park. We caught the gorgeous golden hour light!

Robert and Julaine came to Orlando for their vacation. They are both currently living in Jamaica but love to spend as much time as possible in Florida. Having family living throughout Florida gives them a great excuse to visit often. Robert had set up a surprise proposal for Julaine which he had arranged with Julaine's family for months. I had the honor of photographing their engagement session just a couple of days after Robert proposed to Julaine. They are truly best friends who love to spend time in the outdoors and traveling. They wanted a natural setting for their engagement photos and had seen some images online that I had taken at Cypress Grove Estate Park. They fell in love with the idea of doing their engagement session there as well. Here is a quick sneak peek of their beautiful images

Emily and Thomas's Outdoorsy Engagement Session

I‘m so excited to share Emily and Thomas super cute engagement session with you guys! I love when my couples get creative and really think their engagement session through by starting an inspiration board. The best way to start is by creating a Pinterest Board with Pins that reflect your personalities. If you love photography, maybe pin some Vintage cameras, or if you love to read, pin some books, library photos, reading glasses etc. These Pins will form a base for your engagement Theme, and lots of ideas will come out of them. Emily and Thomas wanted an outdoor themed Engagement session that represented their personalities and their relationship along with their love for the outdoors.

Emily happens to be super creative and brought some adorable props to our session including custom pillows, a pick-up truck for some snuggling pictures, a fishing boat, and their dog! Fun Moment of the day: We rushed to get on the fishing boat to catch the sunset on the lake and got pretty wet on our way there! The boat cruised at full speed to catch the last slivering of the sun as it set on the horizon. It was a warm and windy day, but the sky was blue with just a few passing clouds. It was really a blast and the pictures are just as fun and adorable. Hope you enjoy their sneak peek!
